The Odisha State Maritime Museum is proud to present the exotic aquarium section to the public. The Aquarium was envisioned by the Hon'ble Chief Minister who is an avid Aquarium Hobbyist himself.
The Aquarium has 11 exhibits on display each have a story to tell of their own for people of all ages. This project is commissioned by the Water resources Department, Govt. of Odisha.
The Aquarium showcases Biotopes of 4 major bio diversity hotspots of Odisha i.e., Chilika, Baitarani, Bhitarakanika & Mahanadi. The other exotic fishes housed are Arapaima Gigas, Red tail Cat fish from South America, Japanese Koi from Japan, Lion fish from Puri and many more species of fishes.
It has been inaugurated by the Hon'ble Chief Mister Shri Naveen Pattnaik on 21.08.2014 at 6:05 P.M.
